All Junior and Senior Boys who are interested in playing football this year are invited to attend
the CSS Football Training Camp running from Monday, August 29 to Thursday, September 1 from 4:00
to 6:00 pm on the CSS Field. All players can pick up equipment on Monday and Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00
The 2016 Graduation will be held Wednesday, June 29. All graduating students are asked to meet in the gymnasium by 5:15 pm. The doors to the auditorium will be open at 5:30 for guests to get seated, and the ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm. A reception will follow in the cafeteria for all students, staff and guests.
The eXplore class have made a cedar strip canoe to raffle off for fundraising efforts.
The draw will be Tuesday, June 28. Tickets are 1 for $5.00, 3 for $10.00 and 15 for $20.00
Centennial Secondary graciously received a $25,000.00 donation
from the John M. and Bernice Parrott Foundation Inc. to assist with
the Centennial Library Revitalization. Students and Staff will be able to
enjoy updated resources in a modernized library facility with construction
beginning in June, 2016.
The Centennial 50th Anniversary organizing committee are meeting monthly to organize a wonderful weekend of events for CSS Alumni from Thursday, May 11 to Sunday, May 14, 2017. Check out the Anniversary website.
Congratulations to Taylor McGinnis who won a silver medal at the Canadian
Skills Competition for Automotive Service Technology. Taylor travelled with
teacher Troy Bartlett to Moncton, New Brunswick from June 5-8, 2016 to
participate in the National Skills Competition. Newspaper Feature
Congratulations to Mr Dicresce for being chosen for the Bev Goulding
Coaches Award. The award is presented to a coach in the COSSA area for
their contribution to student athletes, and was presented to Mr Dicresce at
the COSSA AGM on Thursday, June 9, 2016. Mr Dicresce has coached
several sports for over 20 years, and is a wonderful mentor and coach to
all of his athletes.
Pictured are Brandon Bradley and Maddy Davis who will be travelling to Windsor this week
to participate in Ofsaa Track and Field. Brandon will be going for High Jump, and Maddy will
be participating in triple jump and hurdles. Megan Paddison also qualified in long jump, but was absent
for the photo. Best of luck to all three Chargers !
Congratulations to Nick Hoey, Tia Svoboda, Madeline Green, Liberti Hannah, Morgan Elliott, and Miquela Barriage for being recognized at the City of Belleville Honour and Awards Ceremony. The girls were the Gold Medal Champions for Novice Aerobic Gymnastics at BQ, COSSA and Ofsaa last year. Nick was a member of the AAA Minor Midget Team that won all Ontario last year. Other students from Centennial that were recognized but missing from the photo were Scoley Dow and Ryan Fraser who were also on the hockey team, and Marika Tamura who won gold provincially in Karate.
