It is estimated that 10.5 million tons of clothing and textiles in North America are thrown away and sent to landfills every year! Almost all of that material can still be worn or recycled. As part of our committment to the environment, Centennial is taking part in the I Give a Shirt campaign. All we need to do is collect as many shirts, sweaters, t-shirts and more as we can and bring them to the school during Waste Reduction Week - October 15th to 19th.
There will be different activities at lunch throughout this week and prizes will be given out as well. Donation bags will be located in all homerooms for you to drop off any clothing you would like to donate. Our goal is to donate 1500 items! Help reduce the number of clothes being sent to landfills by donating today!
The 2018 Centennial Terry Fox Walk/Run will take place on Friday October 5th! Runners will start behind the school at 8:45am, and walkers will start at the front of the school at 9:00am. Grade 7&8 classes will depart from the front of the school at 9:10am.
The homeform fundraising challenge is in full swing! Homeforms are encouraged to collect money in support of the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research. The 3 homeforms that raise the most money will receive awesome prizes!
Reid's Dairy Milkshakes will also be sold at lunches for $2 to with proceeds going to the Terry Fox Foundation.
